Daily Doodle: Watching Fireworks

Song of the Day: Sh-Boom (Life Could Be a Dream) by The Chords

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBgQezOF8kY

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m on stage wearing a red satin dress that’s a perfect fit. My hair is curled and pinned to a shoulder-length bob and I’m wearing bright red lipstick and red shoes to match. I’m signing a part of harmony and two stepping in unison with the others. At one point, we halt the two stepping and push our arms out starting from our hands at our sides to a point where we look like an airplane with our palms facing out. Then we draw our arms back down to put our hands on our hips and go back to two stepping.

Blurb 1/365: Ah-HA! I see it now.

Daily Doodle: Sleepy

Song of the Day: That’s All Right (Mama) by Elvis Presley

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWgprZu4Hk4

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m watching three men playing three stringed instruments and jamming this tune.

Blurb 1/365: I’ve come to enjoy practicing human interaction with strangers. For example, I opened a door for a food delivery man. When he said thanks, I smiled and gave him the peace sign. Another example is when I was finished buying a gift card, I said, “Thanks muh-man.” and I walked out of the store like a baller. All of these interactions have just the right amount of oddity that I intend to translate into kindness. Practice makes perfect! Next on my list: Get a top hat and answer only in gestures of tipping my hat and smiling.

Song of the Day: Rama Lama Ding Dong by The Edsels

Musical Pipe Dream: The saxophonist and I are in the back on a slightly raised part of the stage. I’m playing the drums. We’re looking at each other for timing cues. I’m sweaty and have a towel around the back of my neck and over my shoulders.

Blurb 1/365: If somebody poos and pees on the sidewalk and nobody is around to see it, does it still make a smell? … … Yes. Yes it does.

Daily Doodle: Saturday Night Couchin’

Song of the Day: Rockin’ Robin by Bobby Day

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUKTgIK8DxA

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m singing backup and clapping in a Z shape. I put my head in close to the microphone to sing and stick my butt out a little in order to make room to clap my hands in front of me.

Blurb 1/365: “We’re adults now. We can sleep on the couch all night if we want to.”

Daily Doodle: Slurms Looks After All of Us from Above

Song of the Day: Tonite Tonite by The Mello-Kings

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyLQViMuE7I

Musical Pipe Dream: There are four of us lined up and singing back up. The lead singer is slightly in front of us and stage left. We are all wearing powder blue suits with black lapels and skinny black ties. Our dance steps are alternating stepping one foot over the other and snapping. At the end of the song, we all bow our heads with our right toe behind our left heel and our palms facing the audience.

Blurb 1/365: Some of the best quality sleep is begotten on a couch.

Daily Doodle: Raindrops

Song of the Day: Yakety Sax by Boots Randolph

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4NDLJow1ZE

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m in a recording studio on the piano. When the music is climbing to the part where it repeats, the band and I look at each other each time we stop playing for a beat. Our heads bob and stop, we look at each other, take a breath, then play again. The folks on the studio recording team on the other side of the glass are eating potato chips.

Blurb 1/365: Sprinkles on a donut, calculator buttons, or vitamins.
