Daily Doodle: My First Memory: Snoopy on Ice

Song of the Day: Mickey Mouse Club March from The Mickey Mouse Club

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4C_lUy58Rw

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m marching to the beat of my own drum.

Blurb 1/365: Six months ago, I decided to do a daily project for a year that included four things: a Daily Doodle (a drawing), a Song of the Day (a random pick of a good song), a Musical Pipe Dream (imagining being able to play a musical instrument, a musical scene, or describing something musical related to the Song of the Day), and a Blurb 1/365 (writing something, a story, a quote, an opinion, anything).

I always over analyze things and try to meticulously plan them out before I even try doing them. This time things were different and I just started doing it without setting expectations for the outcome. It’s the first time I’ve done something like this. Not only in art, but in anything.

I’m usually quite a pessimist when it comes to me following through with things. Now I’m halfway through. I’ve made time for this in my life right now and I believe that when I make time in my life for anything new, life starts to.

With my mind also changing, I’m thankful that the changes in my life and my mind are positive. It also doesn’t hurt to that I’m getting a bit of discipline on my drawing skills and time allocation.

I don’t know where I’ll be in the next six months, but I’m content knowing I’ll be somewhere good in my mind and that’s all I need to know. See you then :O)

Daily Doodle: Super Dog

Song of the Day: Passin’ Me By by The Pharcyde

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjsPG0Kspxo

Musical Pipe Dream: Another person and I are dancing a duet together. We start off on opposite sides of the stage, out of sight. When the music starts, we both hop out with our hands at our sides. For the next eight count we transition into a heel tap move with our arms and head hanging back. We get into a sitting position with me in front and we start doing the motions of paddling down a river.

Blurb 1/365: “Kindness is magic.”–Derek

Daily Doodle: Steamed Hams

Song of the Day: Knock on Wood as performed by Otis Redding featuring Carla Thomas

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m jamming on the drums. My foot is steady and hard on the pedal and I’m making sure I’m playing loud and the sound is tight, not sloppy. I’m having so much fun.

Blurb 1/365: “Aurora Borealis? At this time of year?!” – Superintendent Chalmers

Daily Doodle: Pac-Man’s Back!

Song of the Day: Nappy Heads (Mona Lisa) by The Fugees

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgLT7aXXw9M

Musical Pipe Dream: I’ve got baggy blue jeans on with a maroon sweatshirt. My hair is cut shoulder length, straightened, and it’s parted down the middle. I’m wearing dark brown lipstick with a big smile that reveals my braces with dark green rubber bands. I’m in middle school again.

Blurb 1/365: Today at an intersection, I walked by somebody’s car that was blasting trance music with the windows down and I could smell the driver’s/passenger’s cologne. There were only 2 seconds left on the walk signal. I ran. I made it to the other side of the street, but not before hearing the opera singing breakdown over the trance beats. It’s like I crossed paths with the Roxbury brothers :O)

Daily Doodle: Lucy Danziger

Song of the Day: Donna the Prima Donna by Dion

Musical Pipe Dream: My bangs are gelled into a bouffant and I’m wearing a fitted suit with a skinny tie. I’m singing into a big, chunky microphone and swaying to the 2’s and 4’s. When I shake my legs, the women and men in the audience go wild.

Blurb 1/365: Every time I encounter a person, I treat it like I’m making a first impression; I only make first impressions.

Daily Doodle: Nuchi on Parade (Commissioned by and drawn for Nuchi!)

Song of the Day: Rapper’s Delight by The Sugarhill Gang

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKTUAESacQM

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m on BART and a few kids onboard at the Lake Merrit station with this drum beat playing out loud on one of their phones. They start rapping and the all of us other passengers start to get into it. Most of us are clapping and some are recording video with their phones. When Master Gee’s intro comes in and he says, “On and on and on on and on”, I do a glide step in a box form. My face gets close to one of the cameras at the second step and you can see my big eyeball before I slide away.

Blurb 1/365: Love life.

Daily Doodle: Allow the Dough to Rest

Song of the Day: Give It to Me Baby by Rick James

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dNIQVYGXbM

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m on an extremely crowded bus and holding on to one of the metal poles. This song comes on over the FM radio with moderate reception. All of us are bouncing along with the bumps in the road when my wedding ring starts clanging on the metal pole to the beat. Somebody from the middle of the bus starts singing along. Other people start chiming in until most of us are singing along or at least smiling and grooving. I arrive at my stop and off-board the bus while the song is still playing. The bus slowly departs with people still partying to the music.

Blurb 1/365: “How the hell did she have all these puppies?” – Investigator from Animal Precinct (She had 16 in the basement of an abandoned house. They all lived. The mom was adopted and I can only assume those adorable puppies were all snatched up, too.)

I was looking up this show and it looks like it aired in 2001 … that was 12 years ago … (whoa).

Daily Doodle: A Serious Corn

Song of the Day: We Put the Spring in Springfield

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeYyzoONK6U

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m playing the piano next to a stage doing a variety show. There is a mix of scantily clad women, men hamming it up and tap dancing in clogs, and jugglers.

Blurb 1/365: The world would be a different place if it didn’t have The Simpsons or Futurama.
