Daily Doodle: Harvest Time Is Here

Song of the Day: Christmas Time Is Here by the Vince Guaraldi Trio with the cast of A Charlie Brown Christmas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPG3zSgm_Qo

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m sitting in a warm place and it smells like fresh coffee, chocolate, and mint. While I’m in a dim corner, I’m admiring a pianist under a soft light playing this tune.

Blurb 1/365: Sci-Fi thoughts: When I get sick, I usually have vivid dreams that I may or may not remember by the time I wake up. The weird thing is, the next day, I have bursts of emotion: anxiety, like I forgot to do something, or I’m worried, or a warm feeling of a happy memory. But then I realize that those feelings were from my dream, even if I don’t fully remember the dream. That leads me to think about how cold viruses mutate from person to person. What if cold viruses also transferred memories, thoughts, or feelings? This also would explain why there are so many strangers in my dreams. There are faces of people I have never met before, in this life anyway. I think this could be a start of my sci-fi story. How could this be studied? Could it be manipulated? Used for good or evil? How could it backfire? Hmm …

Daily Doodle: Slug Life

Song of the Day: Express Yourself by Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band

And I love this live performance:

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m in a small room with a whole bunch of band members. The bassist is slouched on a folding chair with the guitarist standing behind. The horn section is opposite the bassist, also on folding chairs with their elbows tucked in and instruments facing downward when not in play. They need to lean back a little when the instruments are in play. The drummer is in the corner with the kit facing outward. The keyboardist and I are in front of the doorway. I’m singing my lungs out and we’re all jammin’.

Blurb 1/365: When you have to bring a flashlight in order to use the bathroom, you know you’ve waited too long to get lightbulbs.

Daily Doodle: Veronica Lake

Song of the Day: Miss Celie’s Blues performed by Tata Vega in The Color Purple

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hry4TTkqpqE

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m in a Costco and sit at one of the pianos that are for sale. I take off my green jacket and lay it beside me on the piano bench. I count myself in and start playing and sing this song to the best of my ability. Some people stop to listen while most people go on with their shopping.

Blurb 1/365: Live each day like it’s a random day in your life.

Daily Doodle: Google Maps Street View

Song of the Day: Yakety Yak by The Coasters

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cHB3Rbz1OI

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m wearing a fitted suit and playing the drums. My back is straight and I’m holding the drumsticks with a traditional grip.

Blurb 1/365: What if our bodies were like the universe? All of our cells are like us living in the universe. Theorizing on that analogy, the universe wouldn’t really be able to hear our prayers, but it would know that we weren’t feeling well if it had a headache or a bad stomach. Or it would know that we wanted more carbohydrates if it was craving a pizza. Some cells live happily and healthily, while others are attacked and are attempted to be protected by forces that drive the immune system in an on going and inevitable battle. If this were the case, I think that the universe cares about our well being and wants us all to be happy, but it can’t possibly think of all of us at the same time. Have I talked about this before? I can’t remember …

Daily Doodle: One Moon or Two, It’s Always Me and You

Song of the Day: Swinging On a Star by Bing Crosby

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rATftJiWdkw

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m singing backup in front of a standing microphone. My hands are out in front of me at waist height, with palms facing down towards the floor. Wearing a coat with a fitted waist and a pencil skirt, I’m swaying back and forth leading with my shoulders. My feet are in perky pumps and I’m two stepping to match the sway of my shoulders.

Blurb 1/365: Can you see it?

Daily Doodle: Two of a Kind

Song of the Day: I Like It by DeBarge

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqaKisKIyUo

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m wearing a long sleeve, button down, matte silk shirt; it’s CMYK with black panel breast pockets. I’m playing the trumpet in the horn section. We’re kicking our knees forward while pointing our toes down towards the ground then we kick ball change to the opposite foot. We two step as we make our way to the microphone for the hook: Oooooo and I like it …

Blurb 1/365: Thank goodness for hamburgers, french fries, and soda … and pizza.

Daily Doodle: You’ve Been Puppified

Song of the Day: Things Have Changed by Bob Dylan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9EKqQWPjyo

Musical Pipe Dream: My hair is unkempt and I’m wearing a long cotton skirt with an ill-fitting puffy shirt. I’m on stage shaking a shaker and taking wide steps with the back of my left hand on my hip and my back arched far back. Everybody is trying to keep from making eye contact with me. I’m shaking that shaker like I’m playing an electric guitar solo. The police are called.

Blurb 1/365: Sometimes all you need is peanut butter and jelly on Eggos.
