Daily Doodle: Sonic & Tails – May 1990

Song of the Day: My Body’s a Zombie for You by Dead Man’s Bones

Musical Pipe Dream: A children’s choir is singing and lifting a rainbow parachute over us. I’m sitting in the grass armed with one cartwheel drum stick and hug the drum as I keep time. Another person has a pair of symbols and crash them together when appropriate. There is a man hunched over a tiny piano.

Blurb 1/365: “What can’t Ryan Gosling do?” – tweeted by @Readblood

Daily Doodle: Loungin’ Frog

Song of the Day: Oh! Carol by Neil Sedaka

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHm7PnCCd4E

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m singing backup and wearing a big, puffy dress that looks like a layered cake. My legs are sticking out like toothpicks and I’m wearing pointy pumps with a short heel. The other backup singers and I are swaying back and forth on the 2s and 4s. We are wearing matching headbands.

Blurb 1/365: I just want to drum, draw, and dream.

Daily Doodle: I wonder if mochi likes me as much as I like mochi?

Song of the Day: Sekai Wa Futari No Tame Ni by Naomi Sagara

Musical Pipe Dream: My mom is singing and swaying in the middle of the living room while my dad is sitting on the couch and playing the acoustic guitar. My sisters and I are lounging around the dining table and we chime in for the harmony. There are plentiful snacks and drinks at the table. My brothers-in-law and husband are playing a game of cards. My nieces are dancing and holding hands. The dogs are napping and curled up into little croissant shapes.

Blurb 1/365: It was kinda crazy, so I just decided to take that time to talk to the Universe.

Daily Doodle: Quantum Leap!

Song of the Day: Ford Mustang by Serge Gainsbourg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT6U57QkUe8

Musical Pipe Dream: I’m wearing a pinstripe, three-piece suit and black polished shoes that come to a point at the toe. Under a beat up top hat, my hair is parted down the middle and slicked down with Dapper Dan. Thick black soot lines my eyes, fingertips, and cuticles. My shirt cuffs are unbuttoned and I’m pounding my hands down on an old piano with yellowed keys. The piano is against the wall and my back is to the rest of the room.

Blurb 1/365: “Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high.”

Song of the Day: Close to You as sung by The Carpenters

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6inwzOooXRU

Musical Pipe Dream: In the style of Rick Moranis’s character in the movie “Parenthood” I bust into a crowded room where James is seated and I sing a capella. “Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh … close to you.”

Blurb 1/365: Keep moving.

Daily Doodle: A Very Serious Shirley

Song of the Day: Flava in Ya Ear by Craig Mack

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-MLp3l2fkA

Musical Pipe Dream: I always thought it would be cool if there was a rap video with people eating ice cream. So, I have envisioned myself leaning up against a brick wall outside of a CVS and rapping while holding an ice cream cone.

Blurb 1/365: “There comes a time when you can no longer ignore ignorance.”

Daily Doodle – Sketched While Playing Dominion Edition: Easter Bunny at the Laundromat

Song of the Day: Just One Look by Doris Troy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJ-Jwi1q8hA

Musical Pipe Dream: I would love to sing this one while playing the piano. A low positioned microphone so I could concentrate on the keys. My head would lower when I played the high notes and my fingers would delicately stroke the keys like tapping a lily pad without making it sink. My head would rise and tilt back when belting out the strong points. One can dream.

Blurb 1/365: Staying up late playing card games with family is where it’s at.
